BRACELETS

RINGS

NECKLACES

EARRINGS

Once upon a time, I fell in love with an artist. Her work was pure magic, and I did something irrational: I clicked “follow” after seeing the very first image.

She was, obviously, a faerie.

Then one day, the faerie - she was called Jemima - shared a magical piece made from her client’s old stones. I pictured my very own jewelry box full of broken and unworn pieces from parents, grandparents, and great aunts.

So I did the only reasonable thing: I scheduled a video call.

Tha faerie was more magical than I could have hoped, and I promptly mailed a parcel of ancient stones to her workshop near the forest where she lived.

I told Jemima the Faerie my most important stories: the ones that shaped me. With numbers and shapes, we wove symbols of those stories into the design of the ring. We planned secret messages for the underside. The faerie forged the base for lifetimes of stories. Then she sent it to her setter on the wings of a butterfly (I made that part up). And we waited.

Today, it returned to the faerie’s workshop-near-the-forest. Jemima polished and preened. She inspected. Then she promptly popped that sucker onto my very favourite finger - the one in the middle - and sent a video.

Soon, the faerie will place the ring ‘round the neck of a carrier pigeon (yeah, yeah, yeah. I made this part up too) for its long journey from the forest to my wee home.

And I will never ever take it off. (Except to garden and shower and hammer things and wash dishes and change kitty litter)

THE END.

(Actually, the beginning)
